We’ve done a little research to identify some of the most Instagrammable places near The Restoration Hotel. From natural landscapes to candy-hued architectural backdrops, we’ve rounded up some of the most photogenic places in town. We hope that you will check some of these out during your stay!
Rainbow Row
This popular attraction is one of the most photographed locations in all of Charleston. We don’t blame passersby for wanting to capture these pastel-hued residences as a backdrop for their trip selfies — they’re not only picturesque, there’s also a fascinating history behind their well-preserved structures.
The Battery
Not far from Rainbow Row, The Battery is the ideal spot to stroll among arching trees and catch striking views of the Ravenel Bridge. The area is also home to many historical homes including the Louis DeSaussure House, the Edmondston-Alston House, the William Ravenel House and many more.
Broad Street
Broad Street has a lot of character. It’s lined with late-nineteen century homes, bluestone sidewalks, palmetto trees and gas street lamps making it a phenomenal place for a photo up. Fun fact: several drafts of the constitution were written at the John Rutledge House Inn, located at 116 Broad Street.
King Street
Over 300 years old, King Street is one of the most historically significant streets in the Holy City. It’s home to some of the trendiest eateries, shops and galleries in town. Second Sundays on King Street, a pedestrian-only half-mile event, brings excellent live music and entertainment for people of all ages.
The French Quarter
This neighborhood, one of the Holy City’s most romantic districts, is perfect for leisurely walks, exploring historic sites, and shooting incredible pictures. It’s also a popular stop for ArtWalk, a free self-guided tour of Charleston’s best galleries which takes place on the third Thursday of every month.
