Florals and Freedom: Fashion and Material Culture Surrounding the American Revolution explores the style of the mid-to-late 18th century. The lecture is led by Virginia Theerman, Curator of Historic Textiles at The Charleston Museum. Guests will learn how clothing, textile design, and decorative arts reflected a changing nation.
The lecture also highlights garments from Ringleaders of Rebellion: Charleston in Revolt 1775-1783. These pieces are now on view at The Charleston Museum.
