 10.0Verified  I enjoyed my 3 night stay at this centrally located apartments/hotel w/ concierge services.  The front of house staff were very welcoming & helpful w/ any inquiries. Special mention to Cathy & Matthew who provided wonderful service.  The rooms are spacious and on a par w/ a luxury hotel.  I also loved the jeep service to ferry you around within a 2 mile radius.  
Lovely place, will definitely return.

 Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.  There was a bit of a hiccup at check-in, however, the desk clerk apologized greatly and even had the GM come and talk with us. He also went up to make sure the room was ready before sending us up again. I love the boutique feel of the hotel. You can tell it’s been thoughtfully renovated. As a wheelchair user, I do wish the room was larger or had less in it so that it wasn’t so challenging to maneuver. This is probably because we were put in a 2 Queen room. They apparently didn’t have a roll in shower in a King. That seems pretty silly, but if we had to choose between sharing the same bed and struggling a little to get around in the room or me being able to shower, well, that option was clear. (Editing to add that I just looked at my booking reserved an ADA King suite specifically. This room was not a suite and not a king. I’m knocking it down by a star because though its not a big deal for most people, it makes a big difference in my comfort as a wheelchair user to end up in a room smaller than I need and because paying for a suite should get me a suite.)
The social hour was unexpected and very nice. I chatted with another couple who was very nice. The breakfast basket was… interesting. It was a pice of fruit and a biscuit with jam. My husband went down to eat in the restaurant and I got a breakfast sandwich from the coffee bar instead.
We were in town for a friend’s concert, which was easy enough to walk/roll to. There are a lot of homeless in the downtown area, which made me a bit sad. Overall, a nice stay. We’d definitely stay again.

The hotel is beautiful, thoughtfully designed, and has such a great atmosphere, but what truly made our experience exceptional was the hospitality.  Matthew and AJ, in particular, went above and beyond and provided some of the best customer service we’ve ever experienced.  They were incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely made us feel taken care of throughout our stay. It’s rare to find that level of service, and they truly made our experience that much more special.

Housekeeping was also fantastic, we received a handwritten note when our linens were refreshed which was such a nice touch.

The only downside was our experience when retrieving our luggage upon departure.  Lashara (spelling)  directed us to use the service entrance and load our own bags onto a luggage cart, which felt unusual and out of place given the otherwise elevated level of hospitality throughout the hotel.  It was an unexpected end to an otherwise fantastic stay.

Overall, we can’t recommend The Restoration enough, and the exceptional service from Matthew, AJ and housekeeping made a lasting impression on us. We would absolutely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff is very warm and welcoming, and the hotel is beautiful. Our room was large, well appointed and extremely comfortable. The bed was firm which was great. We loved the small touches such as the wine and cheese hour each evening and the warm cookies at night. The bread basket delivered each morning was great. The in room coffee was delicious and strong. We also loved the pool on the fifth floor. The hotel was in a great location downtown on a quiet street. We would recommend this hotel highly. My husband and I stayed here while attending a concert a the Orange Peel. We loved eating having a roof top drink and enjoying the DJ during cocktail hour in the lobby. There are so many thoughtful details at The Restoration...the picnic basket breakfast, local coffee in the room, attention to detail all throughout the hotel. Also, the customer service was above and beyond and we were very well taken care of. Downtown is a little loud on the weekends, so request a room in the quieter areas of the hotel if that might bother you. We would absolutely stay here again and hope to find a reason to soon.

Loved our stay. The hotel is unique, and it had everything I needed. It was centrally located to all the best restaurants and stores. The accommodated any special requests. They have a jeep to take you anywhere within two miles. My room was amazingly large. Evening drinks on the room top bar-restaurant was fun. We stayed here to visit colleges in Charleston and USC. It is so ridiculously close to College of Charleston AND the shopping on King Street. On top of that, we encountered some of the nicest people who work there- thank you for the hospitality you graced us with, it made our stay that much more enjoyable.
The room was a suite, which looked like an apartment and so well thought out. There were so many nicely thought out touches and I would absolutely, definitely stay here next time I’m in Charleston. Thank you again for an amazing stay.

From start to finish, the staff and hospitality blew us away.The incredible service started before we even arrived. Kaitlyn, the guest curator, reached out via email with fantastic local recommendations and things to do. She was incredibly helpful and quick to respond to all our questions.

Once we arrived, the outstanding service continued:
- The Valet Team (Rick, Matt, Seth, and Neil): These guys went above and beyond daily. They were super friendly, helpful, and hands-down the most punctual valet employees we have ever experienced.
- Ana at the Front Desk: She was remarkably kind and helpful during our interactions.
- The Entire Crew: almost every single staff member we encountered was lovely and radiated a great, chill vibe.

The amenities really set this place apart. While the breakfast baskets are simple, they are a wonderfully thoughtful touch. The local Jeep transportation and the daily social hour are both absolutely phenomenal perks that made our trip extra special. To top it all off, the rooms are incredibly comfortable and spacious. I have stayed at many of the best hotels within the Americas and Europe and I would put this property in my Top Ten (maybe Five)! The guestrooms (huge) and public areas are beautiful, creative and unique. It feels like staying in a 65 room concierge "level" hotel. with its afternoon wine and crudité and the basket with fruit, muffins and yogurt outside your room each morning is very much appreciated. Staffing (especially Anna Makey) is great and the location is perfect if looking for a very upscale downtown hotel. Only one issue that some may consider a problem are the homeless in the park across the street.

☺The location is good in terms of centrality to shops, restaurants and cultural activities.The room was tastefully designed as is the commons area of the lobby / lounge and restaurant. The floor plan and furnishings are well organized. I love the fact that a clothing steamer is in the room (best way to de-wrinkle clothing). The slippers and bathrobe are also appreciated. On the first morning (but not thereafter) a basket of fruit , cheese and pastry is left outside the door. Nice touch! The vanity desk is very useful and attractive, and the "ring" lighting is quite flattering. There is also a full size mirror which is very useful, and a decent about of space for clothes and luggage. The bed and the pillows are very comfortable and feel cloud-like. The shower has decent water pressure and the bathroom is well equipped (except for the poor amount of hooks). The valet parking set up is very convenient and the valet staff as well as the front desk staff are excellent. I also had an excellent experience with the concierge (Kaitlyn) whose assistance more than made up for any glitches of the overall hotel experience.

☹Precisely because it is so central better soundproofing should be provided so that one doesn't have to hear the street noise so clearly from the room. The walls are also fairly thin so if you happen to have a neighbor (as I did) who doesn't understand how to speak in a normal volume voice or how to avoid constantly banging up against the shared wall, you will suffer as a result. 
The bathroom only had one hook (on which the bathrobe was hung) so there are no handy places to hang your towel or clothes when showering. Odd.
The outlet at the vanity desk is so close to the desk top that you can not plug in certain kinds of electronics (like my Dyson hair straightener) because the plug is too bulky and runs up against the desk top. These details should be more thoughtfully designed -- just an inch more of height above the desk surface would have made all the difference.
The television remote control is probably the cheapest one on the market, which is surprising for a "nicer" hotel. The buttons stick or are otherwise non-responsive. It takes forever to bring up the guide, change a channel, adjust the volume -- these things should not be so time consuming, and with a better remote control they wouldn't be. The coffee pot is not so easy to do correctly even though there are instructions provided. It would be nice to have an espresso making option or at least speedier coffee room service. This is minor, but the door sign indicating that you want room service or want to be left alone is all monochromatic brown in color, so it can not be easily read from a distance. I am not sure if that is related to the fact that someone knocked on our door despite the fact that we had the do not disturb option faced outward, but from a design perspective, it doesn't make sense for these signs to be so hard to read from any distance (we had to hold it up to our face to make sure we understood which side was which).

 Verified  Had a great stay last night. Fantastic location but parking costs what you might expect, $30 valet only. That was fine except for when they retrieved something from the back of our vehicle and didn't close it back all the way...leaving everything else in our vehicle accessible. The room was a great sleep and convenience. Shower was nice! Although a couple of the showers were cold. We wanted to wait for the breakfast basket but it hadn't arrived by 8:30 and we were ready to get on the road. 
The Watch was dead last night but the service and food were great. Recommend! 
The Rise this morning had limited items but I would expect that at a hotel coffee. The weird thing was my husband watched the guy slid his butt across to get behind the counter. No thanks.

☺ Spacious and clean room with great location in the city. A lot of great food and shops within walking distance. The art and books were my favorite decorative touch. The entire staff was super polite and accommodating, they gave great recommendations for places to eat/things to do. The morning breakfast delivery every morning was nice.

☺ This is akin to a large boutique hotel! I travel quite often but found that there were many extra special details that made it comfortable and welcoming. The choice of dining venues is excellent.

☹ Sending a little breakfast basket is a cute idea but skip the cold egg fritata thing and replace it with a fluffy biscuit or muffin.

The hotel is in an excellent location. The aesthetic is amazing. It feels like you are in Europe. It's so comfortable, as well as being elevated and classy. You can walk to everything in downtown Asheville! We had a rental car and the is Valet is $30 day with in/out privileges. Staff is friendly and welcoming. 
The terrace room was great for two adults! The terrace overlooks a small park. The bed was not very comfortable, too firm for me. Everything is low flow, shower pressure not great. But the decor and housekeeping services are wonderful ! 
I appreciated the basket of breakfast items  every morning and the in-room coffee as well as wine/snacks for social hour in the evening. If you want a hotel that is not basic choose the Restoration! I believe it's pet friendly too as I saw many dogs.

We stayed in a Studio Suite, which was a fairly spacious room with modern amenities, a fridge with complimentary beverages, small sink and comfortable furnishings. They don't advertise it much, but the complimentary picnic breakfast each morning was a nice touch, as was the daily happy hour. Their restaurant on the top floor is open all day, which we stopped by for late night drinks and snacks. We didn't take advantage of it, but they also have a couple of bikes, as well as a hotel Jeep that the staff will drive you around within a few miles of the hotel.

The staff were very friendly, the location is walkable to all things downtown - overall, it's a great place to stay in Charleston that has plenty of character.

This hotel gets 5-stars from me! Located in Asheville, it boasts a very boutique feel and has great features. From the rooms, to the meeting areas, to the restaurant and game room...it's a one stop shop!

 Verified  I'm not sure where to begin. This place, top to bottom, is phenomenal! We arrived on a Friday afternoon to a bustling hotel. Matthew, from valet, greeted us with a big smile and immediately made us feel welcomed. Our room was spectacular. The marble shower was definitely the highlight. The room was more than enough space for the two of us. Housekeeping did a wonderful job every morning. The hotel was hosting a couple of weddings during the weekend so we weren't able to enjoy everything. The Draftsman Bar in the basement is a very cool spot. We joined one of the wedding parties and had a blast bowling and playing the arcade games. Sadly, all good things must come to an end. We absolutely loved Restoration!
