Charleston’s beloved annual performing arts festival Spoleto Festival USA takes over the Holy City’s historic theaters, churches and outdoor spaces once again this May. For 17 days and nights beginning Friday, May 25, Charleston overflows with premier artistry in opera, theatre, dance, jazz music and more. Whether you’re attending a performance or just enjoying the festivities of the season, The Restoration is your hub for Spoleto Festival 2018. Located only a few blocks from many of the performances, The Watch Rooftop Kitchen & Spirits is the perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine and sunset before a show or a post-show nightcap on your way home.
As part of the Spoleto Sips program, we’ve crafted a specialty cocktail inspired by Ranky Tanky, the Charleston-based jazz quintet known for contemporary interpretations of classic Gullah music. Our “Ranky Tanky Ring Shout” is the perfect way to toast the festival season, featuring a blend of ingredients native to Southern pantries. Combining sorghum whiskey infused with roasted peanuts, muddled peach, vermouth, simple syrup and benne seed bitters, Ranky Tanky Ring Shout pays homage to the flavors of Gullah cuisine. Swing by for a sip while the cocktail is featured on our menu through the end of the festival.
On May 31 from 5 to 7 p.m., join The Restoration for a Spoleto-inspired “Meet the Artists” event in The Library. Guests can mix and mingle with local artists as well as performing artists from The Restoration’s weekly live music events. Enjoy complimentary wine and cheese while learning more about some of Charleston’s top creatives.
